The bar's a comfortable place, where everyone knows you just have to walk up, give the bartender a smile, and order up a drink. Everyone goes to a bar sometime, whether to pick up a companion for the night, to pick up a friend, or pick up a drink. You never know the story behind the guy sitting next to you, or the bartender. But that's what bars are for, aren't they? To learn about the guy on the stool next to you, drinking his gin and tonic.

So what do you do in a Walk Into A Bar meme?

1. Comment here with your character and their canon in the subject line.

1. Sex on the Beach - You're here at the bar for one reason and one reason only, to find some company for the night. It might help, to buy them a drink first. But then they might throw that back in your face...

2. Tonic and Gin - Life's been one disaster after another lately, and the only thing that makes it easier is the sweet numbing taste of alcohol...

3. Midori Sour - Your friends dragged you out here and they've suddenly abandoned you for some rock star in the VIP lounge. Are you bitter? Maybe. Or maybe you'll just use the opportunity to flirt with the cute bartender...

4. Shirley Temple - You got a call five minutes ago asking you to come to the bar to pick up your too-intoxicated friend/brother/sister. But now that you're here, theydon't seem to be anywhere to be found...

5. Poolside Pleasure - There's nothing like being on vacation in a tropical paradise, is there? And what better way to soak in that tropical vibe than to swim up to the Tiki Bar for a relaxing fruity drink with a paper umbrella?

9. Shaken, not Stirred - To everyone else, this is a regular bar, but not to you. You know you're here to meet a clandestine contact, an enemy informer or a secret spy. Better play it cool and keep your eyes open...

10. Sunken Pirate Ship - You've been out on the high seas for months, and finally made it into port with your pockets full of gold. What're you going to do first? Drink that gold away or buy some company for the evening? You can do both at the bar...

11. Punch in the Rain - You're the bouncer of this bar and you think the guy sitting next to you has probably had too much to drink. Maybe it's time to cut them off. Hopefully they'll go easy, huh?

13. Absinthe - Whatever it is you just drank didn't seem to agree with you. And at the corner of your eye you keep seeing this bright green faerie... Is everything happening around you reality, or have you slipped into some kind of hallucination?

14. 357 Magnum - Did you just insult my mother? Whether or not they did, you sure think so, and you know what's the best way to settle things in a bar? With a bar brawl, of course!

15. Happy Hour - Anything goes! Got another scenario you want to play out, this is the place for it!

He nodded in agreement, and chuckled softly. "I wonder if they vaccinate for it. I could go run through their bases and infect them all," he absolutely didn't have anywhere near the energy required for a stunt like that, but it was an amusing thought. "Bastards tried to kill us all with bio-weapons, only fair to send some back."

He shouldn't have laughed but he did, that was an awful thought and stooping to the enemies level was never a good idea.

"I'll put that down to the chickens messing with your brain." Duo grinned. "Wonder why they call it 'chicken pox'? When've you ever seen a chicken covered in spots?"

That got a smile, and Wufei shook his head a little. "Maybe because it looks like a whole coop of angry hens has been pecking at me," he suggested, chuckling at the idea. "Like that idiot Link, in the old video games."

Duo pulled back to look at Wufei in nothing short of shock, he was also deeply impressed. "You know video games? Pop culture? Why the hell've you been hiding that from me, Wu?" He gave him the smallest of shoves before pulling him right back to his side with a laugh. "I'll protect you from the angry chickens."

"Only a couple," Wufei chuckled as he was shoved. "It was contraband at boarding school, but someone installed a simulator on a library computer, and it had Zelda and a few other games on it. We were allowed to watch any of the old Kung Fu movies, though. We could watch some together, if you want," and camping out on the sofa meant Duo wouldn't be stuck upstairs twiddling his thumbs while keeping an eye on Wufei's condition.

"You like kung fu movies too? You're the whole package, huh? Right, then I think I know what we're doing the rest of the day! Unless you need to rest more? You ever seen the Ip Man movies?" They were some of Duo's favourites. If you were going for a more serious tone, which he wondered if Wufei would like. Old Jackie Chan movies if he wanted some humour in his movies, which was his second choice.

"It's still resting if I fall asleep on the couch," he countered, and gave one of his arrogant little sniffs as he turned his nose up. "Are you actually asking me if I am familiar with one of the greatest movies of all time?" He asked, trying to look both arrogant and extremely put out, but only managing to pull off 'congested'.

"Yeah, I'd say that was still resting." Duo grinned and soon started to laugh. "Hey, in my defence I've no idea what you've watched! But I've the whole set of those movies, even that weird remake set in space!" The older classics were the best, but some of the 'newer' IP movies, cash-grabs for the most part, where just giant slabs of cheese. Still fun if you were drunk enough.

He smiled when Duo started laughing, letting go of the facade to shake his head. "We should start with the weird remake, then, because I think that's the only one I haven't seen," he decided lightly, and eased himself out of the bed, making sure he was steady on his feet before starting to head downstairs. He was sure he wouldn't be awake for long, but there was something about the idea of curling up on the sofa that was extremely appealing just then.

"Weird remake it is." Duo was on his feet too, he reached out to help steady Wufei and when he was sure he was okay, he released him long enough to grab the blankets from the bed and a pillow too. Now armed with comfortable things, Duo carried the lot of it downstairs to the sofa.

If he was going to get Wufei to relax there, he wanted him to be comfortable enough. And give him a good reason to rest and sleep. He dropped the stuff on his chair and went to sort the movie out. "Get settled, I won't be a minute!"

Normally he would've been annoyed by Duo hovering so much, but after the day he'd had he only found it comforting. He would be miserable for a while, but he would survive, and Duo seemed determined to make doubly sure of it.

Once he was downstairs, he grabbed the pillow and blankets, creating a little loaf of warmth and comfort for himself, like a little silkworm making a cocoon. Just the idea had him smiling a stupid smile as he nestled himself into the arm of the sofa.

Duo was bound and determined to ensure Wufei survived this with as little issue as possible. So maybe he hovered some, but he did it because he cared. Which was why he was willing to watch trash to make Wufei happy.

When the tv and the movie were ready, Duo looked over only to laugh. Despite the fact he was sick and covered in red rashes, Wufei was smiling so cutely... "You beat me to it." He'd been planning on getting Wufei wrapped up when he was finished, but now he didn't need to. However, when he moved over and dropped down beside his friend, he did reach over to steal some of the blanket to cover his own lap.

Wufei was very happy, at the moment. He was warm, comfortable, assured he was not actively attempting to die, and there was Duo right there next to him. There were a lot of reasons to be happy.

He leaned over when Duo took some of the blanket, essentially snuggling up to him with a happy hum. "It looked cozy," he agreed. "I look like a silkworm."

He was surprised when Wufei leaned into him but laughed at the assessment.

"A silkworm, huh? Yeah, I can see that. C'meme, silkworm. Just relax and watch this hot mess of a movie with me. I'm not suffering alone!" Duo curled his arm around Wufei to hold him at his side, his arm was over the blanket to keep it tucked in and up over Wufei's shoulders.

He hummed in agreement, turning his attention to the movie. He even managed to keep his eyes open and focused on it for a solid half hour before he started drifting, and at fourty-five minutes, he was out like a light again.

And had himself the weirdest dream of his life, jolting awake a little while later and sliding a hand up to rub at his eyes.

Duo half expected Wufei to fall asleep, so once he had, Duo turned it off to watch something else. He half dozed half flicked through the channels watching random shows. He wasn't much of a tv fan if he was honest. He liked old movies though, so when he found one he was happy to settle down to watch.

Beside him, once the movie was nearing it's end, he felt Wufei moving and smiled. "You with me again, Wufei? Sleep well?"

Wufei nodded a little, covering his mouth as he yawned. "Mmhmm, until the silkworms got beaks," he agreed, letting out a little sigh. "I'm very itchy," but not itching, because he remembered he wasn't supposed to.

"Beaks? Sounds creepy." He gave a sympathetic smile and moved his hand so he could gently run it up and down Wufei's arm over the blankets.

"Maybe a bath'll help? I'm not sure honestly. Think we're gonna need someone to bring us supplies, like calamine lotion." He'd read that was good for the itching rash that came with Chicken Pox. "Wonder if any of the guys are still around...?"

"Very," he agreed, letting out a long sigh. "Cold bath might help. Quatre always hovers, he's probably still nearby." And Wufei could put up with the blonde's overbearing sort of concern if it meant the itching would ease off.

He had no idea how much worse it was going to get.

"I'll give him a call then. Need me to run the bath or... you think you'll be okay with it?" Truthfully he wasn't even sure he wanted Wufei getting up from the sofa, but he couldn't sit on the guy for the rest of time. Wufei wasn't an invalid, he was just sick.

Wufei shook his head. "I'll be fine if I move slowly," he assured, and carefully unwrapped himself from the blanket, getting to his feet and stepping out of it. The little blisters on his face were starting to look like they wanted to pop, and red spots were showing up on every exposed inch of skin he had.

He made his way upstairs, nice and slow, and got himself a bath running, nice and cool, and stripped down to crawl into the water, splashing it on his face to ease the itch a bit. He'd left the door cracked for Duo's sake, but wasn't paying much attention to anything, trusting Duo to handle the security entirely -- he didn't have the presence of mind to manage it while he was sick.

Duo winced seeing just how bad Wufei was looking. He really did wish he could help more, but all he could do was wait for him to leave and then find his phone to give Quatre a call.

When he found his phone he thought about texting, but in the end just straight up made the call to Quatre.

Quatre picked up on the first ring. "Oh-four," he chirped. "How is everything? Do you need something? Is he in good spirits?"

"Need a bunch of things. You got a pen?" Duo waited a beat to find out if Quatre had, or for him to go and get one before he rattled off a list of things they needed. If they were going to have to stick around the safe house for longer, they would need more food stuffs. Including what he needed to make congee because... well, why not? But more importantly were the medicines that Wufei would need. Including as much calamine lotion as Quatre could find.

Only when he was done did he heave a sigh.

"He's holding up. He looks awful though. So if you can get that stuff here asap, the food things can wait. But that lotion... Also no one gets in here. Full quarantine is in effect. Chicken Pox is contagious."

"Sure," Quatre agreed, and got a pad and pen ready, writing it all down when Duo rattled off the list. He made little sounds confirming he had each item written down, and then listened to Duo's sigh.

"I'll have it there this afternoon, but Duo... we're all vaccinated against it. He should've been, too. Do you know if he's missing any other vaccines? I can't get them for him today, but I can get just about anything in a week or less," Quatre offered. "Honestly, sending him down without it... what were they thinking?"
