The Walk Into A Bar Meme!

The bar's a comfortable place, where everyone knows you just have to walk up, give the bartender a smile, and order up a drink. Everyone goes to a bar sometime, whether to pick up a companion for the night, to pick up a friend, or pick up a drink. You never know the story behind the guy sitting next to you, or the bartender. But that's what bars are for, aren't they? To learn about the guy on the stool next to you, drinking his gin and tonic.

So what do you do in a Walk Into A Bar meme?

3. Midori Sour - Your friends dragged you out here and they've suddenly abandoned you for some rock star in the VIP lounge. Are you bitter? Maybe. Or maybe you'll just use the opportunity to flirt with the cute bartender...

4. Shirley Temple - You got a call five minutes ago asking you to come to the bar to pick up your too-intoxicated friend/brother/sister. But now that you're here, theydon't seem to be anywhere to be found...

Duo managed to look sheepish, but defensive too. He pulled away from Heero and shot a glare over at Wufei's back for ratting him out.

"I couldn't sleep... So I figured I'd make myself stay awake so when it gets to night I'll be tired enough to sleep. So I drank coffee to keep me awake. What's wrong with that?" He looked at Heero then, daring him to judge. Duo had seen him set his own damn leg. He couldn't judge him on coffee!

"You're supposed to be the reasonable one," Heero replied dryly, and returned his attention to his phone.

"What's that supposed to mean? I'm reasonable!" Wufei protested from the kitchen.

"You got out of your Gundam to fight Treize with a sword," Heero replied without looking up, pretending very hard that he didn't notice the glare Wufei was shooting at him.

He gave Heero a funny look, genuinely confused. "Have you met me? Okay, granted, Wufei was kinda dumb to get out and use his sword when he could have just slapped that asshole and turned him into a Tyrant Pancake. But I've never been accused of being responsible before..." He gave a theatrical shudder. "Ugh... that makes me feel dirty. Take it back, Yuy! Don't curse me like that!"

Heero smirked faintly. "Then who's the reasonable one? Winner? Barton?" he quirked a brow, as if he'd just laid an impossible challenge at Duo's feet.

In the kitchen, Wufei snorted as he watched the coffee brewing. "It sure as fuck isn't any of the scientists," he decided.

Duo considered the question, then made a rather rude noise in Wufei's direction at the mention of those guys. Responsible for chaos and destruction, sure.

"Uh... Alright, I'm gonna go with Quatre. Of the five of us he's the most likely to go postal, but also financially stable enough to be a responsible adult one day!" Duo grinned, feeling like he had answered the impossible. So take that, Yuy!

"You do realize Quatre surrendered to Trowa because they both had Gundams? What if it had been an Oz soldier in a Tallgeese?" Wufei scoffed.

Heero lifted a brow. "He has thirty-nine sisters and a fourty-man private army." And he might have wondered more than once if those sisters were in any way associated with the men. And if so, which man was Quatre's? Obviously he'd tossed the poor man aside for Trowa, but... "My concussion is still severe," he decided, halfway through that train of thought.

"You do realise he probably did that because he had a hardon, right? And Trowa did it right back. I've no doubt in my mind they found a quiet place and fucked like bunnies right there and then." Duo declared, not caring how vulgar it might have sounded, but also firm in his believe.

Not that it was much of an excuse.

"This guy tried to murder me when he first met me!" Duo jerked a his chin to the side to indicate Heero. "What's more responsible? Horny teens or a trigger-happy one?" He was just getting into a groove, laughing, until Heero mentioned his concussion. Then the laughter faded and he twisted around to lightly touch Heero's temple. "Headache? Hey, Wu? Bring some painkillers over with that coffee."

"What about the guy trying to defend the lady? It's not your fault the other two were mad," Wufei said lightly, pouring two cups of coffee and grabbing the pain killers as he returned to the living room.

Heero hummed softly. "No. Irrational thought patterns," he decided, but he took the pain killers when Wufei handed them over, and washed them down with the coffee.

"I'm just an idiot who watched too much tv." And one who had immediately told his boss to fuck off. They'd all had orders to kill anyone who saw them once they landed, and Duo wasn't about that life.

Still, Duo couldn't help laugh. "Dude, those are just normal thought patterns. The concussion made your brain normal." He gently rubbed his fingers in slow circles upon Heero's temple, just in case there was a headache. It helped him sometimes doing that. "It'll fix itself."

"It's normal to wonder if Quatre was betrothed to a Maguanac?" Heero asked, entirely deadpan but while giving Duo a seriously impressive glower. When you considered the fact that he was leaning into the little temple massage, because headache or not, it just felt nice.

Both Wufei's brows went up, and he glanced at Duo. "Well, you're probably not the first one to wonder," he offered, though he didn't sound sure at all.

"You kiddin? I wondered if it was his harem!" Duo grinned, impervious to that glare and happy to carry on gently massaging Heero's temple. He couldn't get to the otherside so this one would have to do. He glanced over at Wufei and winked. "C'mon, you've never wondered?"

Heero couldn't help the laughter at that. Quatre. With a harem. It was hard enough for him to wrap his head around the idea of the petite blonde fucking, let alone fucking fourty large, strapping men.

Wufei snorted softly. "Not until now, I hadn't," he replied, watching them both with a faint smile. "The only harems in my culture are composed of women."

"Concubines, right?" Duo cocked his head to the side, pretty sure his memory was right there. But he was grinning, pleased he'd managed to get Heero to laugh. He pulled his hand away then and scooted to the edge of the sofa. "That you know of! Who's to say what was going on behind closed doors?"

Wufei hummed in agreement. "Yes, and that sort of thing went out of practice centuries ago," lest they get any ideas. Though he supposed if he really wanted to tease them, he could call them his concubines. "I'm sure a house with too many women would be the talk of any town they lived in. My people love their gossip, and we tend to make it as overdramatic as possible," he grinned.

With a grunt, Heero relaxed into the sofa and nursed his cup of coffee. "Well, what's a male concubine called?"

"You don't wanna know." Duo grinned. "But I know they had eunuchs back then. Which makes my balls ache just thinkin about!"

He would have laughed if Wufei had suggested he was his concubine. It implied he was the tip of their little love triangle and Duo wondered about that. He liked to think they were all on equal terms. At least for now. Maybe he and Wufei a little more equal than Heero, but he'd get there.

"Paramour," Wufei replied without missing a beat, settling into a seat with his own coffee and taking his time sipping at it. "I suppose technically that's the male form of mistress, but it's the closest thing you have in English," he slouched a little, sticking his legs out.

"I thought that was a band," Heero murmured, nursing his coffee.

Duo shot Heero a look. "You did not just say that..." He was learning so many new things about these guys. Like Heero knowing what music was!

"And... I like 'paramour' as a word, but when I looked this shit up I got 'concubinator' as the male concubine." He grinned cheerfully. "For obvious reasons the word stuck with me!"

Heero shrugged defensively. "My dad liked old music," he muttered into his mug.

"Concubinator," Wufei repeated the word slowly, brows growing up. "I can't decide if it sounds more like a vegetable, an innuendo, a curse, or all three at once."

"Go with all three. More funny if you do that!" Duo laughed, but he kept shooting Heero little glances until he couldn't take it anymore.

"Hey, I'm just teasing..." He leaned back and lightly poked Heero's arm. "It's just...nice,i guess? Learning new things about you guys I'd never have guessed." it made them more real to him. More human. More approachable. "I always felt like the odd one out. Like you guys must have really hated me. I try to hard, say weird stuff. I know I drove you guys nuts. So I... I won't tease anymore, okay?" He'd try his hardest anyway.

Wufei lifted a brow at Duo, head tilting a little. "Duo... Have you ever known me to be lacking in self control?"

Heero grabbed Duo's hand gently, settled their hands down between them. "You're weird interesting," he corrected. "I didn't hate you. Except at first." Brutally honest, that one.

"Huh? What?" had he said something bad? Had he mentioned Wufei's level of control in some way? Duo wasn't sure what he'd said, but he shook his head, even as Heero had gone and taken his hand and... Okay. Ouch. That hurt more than it probably should have.

So he laughed to cover himself.

"Sorry, look just blame my weird ass nonsense on too much coffee and not enough sleep!"

Wufei snorted softly. "If I'm not lacking in self control, why would I have allowed myself to react so strongly to your little pranks if I did not wish to encourage you to play them?" He reached out with a foot to nudge Duo in the leg.

"It is very weird ass," Heero agreed. "But I like it."

"I dunno? You're a masochist?" Duo attempted to joke, but then choked on his words after hearing Heero's contribution to the conversation. Duo had blushed a bright red and for once was actually speechless.

Wufei rolled his eyes. "Because I don't actually hate them," he corrected, nudging Duo's leg again.

If Heero noticed the blushing, he hid it will as he drank his coffee and let himself relax in the sofa.

Duo just pouted. The second time he was 'nudged' he shifted his leg and nudged right back.

"See? Masochist." But it was clear Duo was trying, and failing, to hold back his smile. He loved Wufei to bits and recognised he was trying to cheer him up. Duo wasn't even sure how he'd ended up with this line of conversation or feeling down about it. Maybe he really was just that tired? "But thanks, Wu."
