 Ever played out something and then later wondered "What if?" Ever wondered what it'd be like to play your character a different way, but didn't feel like making a full thing dedicated to it? Now's your chance to play it out!

Using RNG you'll roll 1-3 for the level of the change, and 1-6 for the change itself, or if you want, pick your own based on what you wanted to do.


1)  Small Change: The flap of a butterfly's wings can cause tsunami's on the other side of the world.

-1: "A minute too late"- What if you missed something by a minute, or more? You missed the big meeting, the girl, helping that person, all because you were too late, what happens next?
-2: "The nick of time"- Just like the first, only that instead of missing something you got, that if you got something you missed because you were either too late, or just messed up? Congratulations! Let's just hope it's what you really wanted.
-3: "A little too early"- One more, what if you showed up early? It's suppose to be a good thing, is it this time?
-4: "The other choice"- You had two choices, left or right, heads or tails, Coke or Pepsi, now you get to see what would have happened with the other choice.
-5: "Oops!"- You slipped up, and made a mistake. Is it bad, or a blessing in disguise?
-6: Wild card/Pick your own- Thought of a slight change that'd make all the difference, or had one you wanted to play? Here's your chance.

2)  Medium Change: Didn't really see that coming, did you?

-1: Turning point change- That one thing that would have turned things in your favor went against you, and vice versa. How will you handle this critical change?
-2: "A Razor's edge"- That one moment that could have went either way has gone the opposite way of before. Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
-3: Crossroads- You reached a point in your life where you had several choices before you, now's the time to go down another road and see where it leads.
-4: The Road less traveled- "Two roads diverged in the woods, and I took the one less traveled" Will it make all the difference?
-5: Interference- Something blocked you from getting something you were going for. What do you do once the moment is gone?
-6: Wild Card/Pick your own-Thought of a medium change that'd make all the difference, or had one you wanted to play? Here's your chance.

3)  Large Change: Why do all the people here have goatee's?

-1: Good/Evil- Use to be a good guy? Welcome to the dark side, here's your cookie. Former bad guy? Hand over the cookie tray and join the side of good. How will the change of moral compass change you?
-2: A different person- You're now a completely different person, literally. Are you taller? Shorter? A robot? A pony? Powers? No powers? Your call.
-3: The other sex- Rule!63 is in effect. Now how does this effect your relationships with the other?
-4: A change in history- Something that happened in the past now has completely change or is now gone. One domino toppling the rest. Now that you've changed your past, how will it effect your future?
-5: Giving up- You walked away from something important to you? Do you regret it? Are you happy?
-6: Wild Card/Pick your own- Thought of a large change that'd make all the difference, or had one you wanted to play? Here's your chance.

"Surprised if they've not been running interference to keep as few people finding out as possible." He accepted the phone back and slid it back into his pocket. "Or brain storming a way to wipe my memory." He laughed.

"Food, huh. A guess a big, greasy burger is outta the question?" for some reason fast food always tasted better when he was on Earth instead of the colonies. Duo had never worked out why. Didn't really care though because he'd eat damn near anything.

"They might be," she agreed. "At least this'll take that off their plates." When he mentioned the burger, she shrugged. "I'm sure Sally will want me on a higher calorie diet than usual for a few days to make up for not getting enough while I was captured," and probably to cope with all the crap her body was doing because of the birth control failure. "There's a popular burger place near headquarters." It was a McDonalds.

"Then when we're done there we'll hit the burger joint." Duo confirmed cheerfully, glad that Wufei was game. Tomorrow they could have something a little healthier, today he just wanted something tasty and unhealthy.

The cab showed up around then and Duo had to let go of Wufei's hand so he could move around to climb into the car. Once settled inside they gave the driver Wufei's address for a quick stop. Duo would stay in the car and wait since he didn't think she'd take too long, then on to Preventers HQ and for an interesting experience.

The wait was indeed a short one. Wufei changed entirely from the borrowed safe house clothes to a preventers Uniform and a bra, returning with the used clothes in a bag and slipping back into the car.

And as they approached HQ, she took a deep breath, pulling her hair back into its usual overly-tight ponytail. "No need to give everyone two shocks in one day," she said lightly, trying to pretend that she wasn't extremely nervous about this. As the car rolled to a stop, she took a deep breath. "Okay."

It was almost a disappointment when Wufei pulled her hair back. He was just getting used to the look. But he understood why she was doing it and had to reach out to cover a hand with his own, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You've got this. I'm right there with you."

He let go and climbed out of the car. And just because he could, he walked around and opened the door for Wufei before offering his hand again. She was nervous, it was obvious, he hoped by being close he could help lessen that some. At least until they got in the building. He would let go then. No point in ruining her stoic reputation too soon.

The smiled she turned on him was soft and warm, like the center of a slightly undercooked brownie. "Thank the gods for that," she replied warmly, and when he opened the door for her, she took his hand, stepping out and taking another deep breath, rolling her shoulders and assuming her usual cool demeanor.

Her hand was tight on his -- enough that it was clear she was holding back from gripping his hand hard enough to hurt -- and walked right up to the doors like she owned the place, only releasing his hand at the last second as she stepped inside.

People stared. No one was stupid enough to speak as she strode past, but there were plenty of double-takes and quite a bit of rubbernecking.

At least until she got to Heero's office, knocking on the door in her usual pattern before pushing the door open and stepping inside. "Yuy," she greeted him, and dropped into the seat opposite his desk.

Duo didn't let it be shown that she was hurting his hand. So long as she didn't break his damn fingers he was fine with it. And would have been find with it if she'd kept hold of it. But once they entered the building, Duo just smiled.

He followed her through, his hands were in his pockets and his eyes on those around them just begging someone to say or do something. But no one did.

Soon enough they were at Heero's office and he almost burst out laughing at the way Wufei just walked right in and dropped into a chair. Duo side stepped, closed the door behind him and propped up the wall beside it. His arms crossed over his chest now, though one hand did raise in a little wave of wiggling fingers. "Yo."

Heero looked up at them, face as blank as usual as his gaze carefully catalogued everything different, and he finally settled his gaze, right on Wufei's chest for several long seconds, then lifted it to her eyes, lifted a brow.

"Yes," Wufei replied lightly. "I've been binding them to conceal my gender from the remaining branches of my family so they wouldn't marry me off to whoever they deemed most advantageous."

Again, Heero's gaze drifted, sizing Duo up, and the other brow went up, just as Duo predicted. "Congratulations?" He sounded very unsure. For him.

Duo just smirked. He was highly entertained by Heero's reaction, but also by just how blunt Wufei was. No beating around the bush here. Just dropping it on the poor guy without much warning at all.

"Thanks." Duo answered cheerfully with a little incline of his head. Perceptive little shit. Ruined the fun of dropping that bombshell as well.

It was the result of a great many misunderstandings between the two of them, until Wufei had learned to just spit things out as bluntly as possible. "It's going to be in the next six months. We're telling Trowa and Quatre next week, so I expect radio silence until I give you the all clear."

Heero grunted softly, looking between them again. "So it's platonic?" Heero's brow furrowed all over again.

Wufei's mouth fell open, snapped shut again, and she actually fidgeted. Just a little. "Well," she said softly, dropping her gaze. "It's complicated."

Duo's gaze moved to Wufei then, the smallest of frowns wrinkling his brow. It made sense. They hadn't given themselves time to actually talk about this before Duo had just put his foot in it and accidentally proposed. Even if he'd fully intended to throw his hat into the ring anyway. He just hadn't expected Wufei to accept it, him, so readily.

His lashes lowered, a breath was taken and then he was all smiled again as he pushed away from the wall and grabbed up a chair to drop himself into.

"Doesn't matter, right?" Then he smirked. "Focus on the important things, Yuy. Like if you're gonna be my best man or not? Suppose you could be maid of honour too. I'm not gonna judge. Actually do you guys have this things in Chinese weddings? How does that go?"

Heero grunted at them both. "Uncomplicate it before you see Quatre. He always makes complications worse."

Wufei snorted. "I would much prefer a western wedding, if you don't mind," she said with a sigh. "And we will. I'm well aware of his penchant for interference."

"A united front is the best defense," Heero agreed, and turned his attention back to his work. "I'll fill whatever roll you'd like, as long as you--"

"Brief you, yes, I remember how this works."

Duo rolled his eyes. Looked like he was going to be organising his own stag party. Unless he could rope Trowa into it. He at least had some form of a sense of humour. He was with Quatre after all!

"I don't mind. Don't suppose it matters much, can do a blend? Despite what I looked like during the war I'm not actually religious." but he was open to suggestions. And as Heero said, uncomplicating things was something they probably needed to do. Then they could work on just what kind of wedding they'd want. Or whether they'd just go and sign the papers and have done with it.

Wufei shrugged. "Modern Chinese weddings are Christian ceremonies without the Christ," she replied lightly. "The older traditions are... well. Let's just say I walked out in the middle of my first one and it was still binding." And it had essentially made her someone else's property, and she had a big, fat beef with that and she knew Duo would share the sentiment.

"You could just do it at the courthouse," Heero replied without looking up.

Duo pulled a face. Yeah, no, he would most definitely have a problem with that. Wufei wasn't his property and he in no way owned her even if he put a ring on her finger. She'd be her own person still.

He glanced at Heero and grinned. "Could do. There's a hundred ways we could do this. But we've time to work though it. Six months right? So no rush yet." when he said that he turned his grin to Wufei. "So take it easy till then. I've given you time enough to work out what you actually wanna do."

Wufei nodded, letting out a heavy sigh. "Why don't we talk about it over dinner?" she suggested.

"And go see Sally," Heero added, pinning Duo with a look. "Otherwise she and I are going to hear about it for months."

"That's our next stop," Wufei sighed, getting to her feet and flashing Duo a little smile. "Ready?"

"Hey, why am I getting the looks?" Duo laughed, hands held up in mock surrender. He was just an innocent bystander here. No fair glaring at him. Though he did wince when he dropped his hands again and hid it with a smile as he stood.

"Let's go see Sally. And yeah, we can talk more about it at dinner." That's what he'd been hoping for. Another reason he'd wanted some simple fast food. Something they wouldn't need to cook and could just sit down and relax with while they hashed things out.

"I know what it looks like when you're hiding an injury," Heero replied blandly. "A field dressing isn't sufficient treatment."

"Don't bully him just because I've bullied you," Wufei scolded absently, stepping out of the office and putting back on her 'look all you want but speak at the cost of your life' expression as she made her way down towards the medical suite.

There was exactly one poor fool that said anything on the way, poking his head out of a cubical. "Holy shit," and that was all he had to say before he ducked down as Wufei's gaze lasered in on him.

Duo just stuck his tongue out at Heero. He was totally an adult and mature about things. Really. He wss a catch. Wufei wss so lucky to get him.

"See you later, Yuy." a flash of a grin and Duo was off and jogging after Wufei. He almost laughed when some guy popped out, shit himself and ducked back into the room before Wufei could beat him up. He had to step up to her side and lifted a hand to rest on her shoulder. "Relax. You've scared everyone silly, thing they've all got the point now."

She hummed softly, though some of the tension faded from her shoulders when his hand settled there and she let out a sigh. "I think you overestimate the intelligence of some of these people," she grumbled under her breath, but she toned the death glare down to sub-Yuy levels, and once she did they were no longer attracting quite so much attention. Still a few double-takes, but no one completely stopped working when they walked past.

And then they were in medical, and she let herself relax the rest of the way.

"She's expecting you, room two," the woman at the front said, gesturing to a hallway without looking up from her computer. "No boyfriends," she added, finally looking up to frown at Duo.

"I'm a patient." Duo corrected with a grin. "Got shot. Totally here to see the doc. Go ask, bet she'll make an exception for me. I was always her favourite!" he was doing his very best not to laugh and tried so hard to be serious.

[pilot05]

"WHAT?!" Sally's head popped into the hallway before the receptionist could say anything.

"He's fine, I bandaged him up myself," Wufei replied dismissively. "You should check the one on his arm, though, make sure he doesn't need more than what I did, and we both need a post-mission eval."

"Well you can start with three days of rest," Sally replied with a frown, waving for them both to come back. "The first one is never fun. Hell, none of them are. Get your asses in here."

Duo flashed the receptionist a winning smiled and silently mouthed 'see?' before he turned around with a laugh.

"Totally fine! Shoulda seen the other guys." He was still laughing as he joined Wufei in following Sally. "Wufei did a great job though. Only hurts when I laugh."

The receptionist rolled her eyes, and went back to her work as they went past. "Weirdos," she grumbled under her breath when she thought they were out of earshot.

"The other guys are in body bags," Sally replied dryly, and patted the exam table. "You're first, Duo. Show me where it hurts, and if you make that into a dirty joke just remember I have access to all the needles," she smiled sweetly.

On a tray tucked away by the door were all the things Sally would need to put in an IUD, and exactly none of them looked fun. Speculum, needle, and something about the size of a drinking straw, and a whole pile of gauze. And Wufei was very intentionally not looking in that direction.

He'd have agreed with her had he heard her and would have taken pride in it too.

"You're spoiling all my fun, Po." Duo grumbled but he still stripped out of his jacket and the shirt he wore, carefully as he could, and then hopped up onto the table. "See? Fit as a fiddle. I only said that to get past the Gatekeeper out there."
