Ever played out something and then later wondered "What if?" Ever wondered what it'd be like to play your character a different way, but didn't feel like making a full thing dedicated to it? Now's your chance to play it out!

Using RNG you'll roll 1-3 for the level of the change, and 1-6 for the change itself, or if you want, pick your own based on what you wanted to do.

1)  Small Change: The flap of a butterfly's wings can cause tsunami's on the other side of the world.

-1: "A minute too late"- What if you missed something by a minute, or more? You missed the big meeting, the girl, helping that person, all because you were too late, what happens next?
-2: "The nick of time"- Just like the first, only that instead of missing something you got, that if you got something you missed because you were either too late, or just messed up? Congratulations! Let's just hope it's what you really wanted.
-3: "A little too early"- One more, what if you showed up early? It's suppose to be a good thing, is it this time?
-4: "The other choice"- You had two choices, left or right, heads or tails, Coke or Pepsi, now you get to see what would have happened with the other choice.
-5: "Oops!"- You slipped up, and made a mistake. Is it bad, or a blessing in disguise?
-6: Wild card/Pick your own- Thought of a slight change that'd make all the difference, or had one you wanted to play? Here's your chance.

2)  Medium Change: Didn't really see that coming, did you?

-1: Turning point change- That one thing that would have turned things in your favor went against you, and vice versa. How will you handle this critical change?
-2: "A Razor's edge"- That one moment that could have went either way has gone the opposite way of before. Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
-3: Crossroads- You reached a point in your life where you had several choices before you, now's the time to go down another road and see where it leads.
-4: The Road less traveled- "Two roads diverged in the woods, and I took the one less traveled" Will it make all the difference?
-5: Interference- Something blocked you from getting something you were going for. What do you do once the moment is gone?
-6: Wild Card/Pick your own-Thought of a medium change that'd make all the difference, or had one you wanted to play? Here's your chance.

3)  Large Change: Why do all the people here have goatee's?

-1: Good/Evil- Use to be a good guy? Welcome to the dark side, here's your cookie. Former bad guy? Hand over the cookie tray and join the side of good. How will the change of moral compass change you?
-2: A different person- You're now a completely different person, literally. Are you taller? Shorter? A robot? A pony? Powers? No powers? Your call.
-3: The other sex- Rule!63 is in effect. Now how does this effect your relationships with the other?
-4: A change in history- Something that happened in the past now has completely change or is now gone. One domino toppling the rest. Now that you've changed your past, how will it effect your future?

She blinked, looked over at the innertube and laughed. "Maybe I've had more to drink than I thought," she said with a shake of her head, and finished off her drink, letting go of Duo's hand so she could paddle herself to the edge of the river, dropping off her glass before dropping into the water and pushing the innertube she'd been using away. The glass vanished -- this waterpark had extremely good service -- and she waded over towards Duo. The river was shallow, just four feet deep, but it still came up almost to her shoulders.

Duo just laughed and followed her lead. His empty glass, which he'd wedged beside his thigh, was dropped off at the waters edge so that he could hop out of one tube and over to the other. He didn't get into it though, he just held it still and waited for Wufei to get close.

Once she was, he grinned and reached out to gently grab her by the waist and lifted her from the water and into the innertube. And maybe he stole a kiss on the way. Could he be blamed for that? She was adorable.

She returned the kiss happily as she was lifted, and settled into the plastic floatie, reaching out to hold onto the edge of the river, keeping it steady so Duo would have an easier time getting onto the unwieldly thing. "What do you think, after we float around a little longer... something sweet or something savor, or should I just go ahead and get completely trashed with another one of those drinks?"

Duo grabbed on and hauled himself up and over and into the tube with a splash. He was laughing as he twisted around to get himself seated properly. "Choice if yours, love. I'd lean more towards food, but..." He dropped back and let his head fall back against the rubber tube behind him with a sigh, his eyes closed. "... if you wanna grab a few more drinks, now's the time to do it." They were on holiday, after all!

"It probably would be bad form to be hungover at the wedding tomorrow," she said lightly, shifting herself around so she could drape her legs over his, grinning to herself. "I think I saw a place selling turkey legs while we were trying the slides, and there was definitely ice cream. I bet we could find something that vaguely resembles a vegetable and make it a three course meal."

Duo dropped his hands onto her legs, one on the knee of her left leg and one resting just below the knee of the right. He nodded with her suggestion, grinning though he didn't open his eyes. "We can eat double veggies tomorrow. Today we're supposed to be having fun. We'll get a turkey leg. We'll get some ice cream. I'm gettin fries with mine. And we'll have a good time. Nothin stopping you from having another drink either, just have to put a stop to it before you get too drunk. You can still have a good time, Wu."

She hummed happily, smiling over at him as they started drifting down the river again. "Turkey and ice cream and fries," she agreed with a grin. "And I'm having a great deal of fun. I don't think I've ever had this much fun in one week," she grinned. "And so relaxed, too," she stretched her arms over her head with a happy little groan.

He rolled his head to the side, just enough so he could crack his eyes open and watch her. She really did seem relaxed. And that made him overwhelmingly happy. "Good. You deserve that." To have fun. To relax. She'd spent so much of her time stressed over hiding who she was, now was the time to let go and enjoy it. And he'd do the same.

She hummed happily, smiling warmly at him and letting herself just enjoy the ride, the company, the way everything seemed to be going right for them. Silence lingered for a little while before she spoke again. "It feels like the war is finally over," she said softly. For the first time in her life, she felt truly at peace. Sure, there was chaos on the horizon, but they were safe here until it hit, and with Duo at her side she was ready to take it all on, fearlessly.

"It does." Duo agreed just as softly, quietly adding his voice to the peace and quiet that had descended upon them. Not that it was really that quiet. There were the distant sounds of laughter and splashes from the waterpark, but where they floated it was mostly quiet.

"I mean, it has... but I guess it's tough shaking that mindset off, huh? Lowering the guard you've had up for so many years." It was hard. But Duo had felt that guard lowering bit-by-bit the longer he was around Wufei.

She hummed in agreement. "And working where I do, it's been an easy mindset to maintain, really. I'm always tossing myself into dangerous situations," as Duo had found out rather quickly when he'd come to her rescue. "But even in my down time... there was always a looming threat from my family finding out. Now there are no more secrets, none that matter anyway," and she certainly didn't have any she was keeping from him.

She leaned her head back and closed her eyes, smiling as he hand gave his a squeeze again. "I love you," she said softly. "Feeling safe like this, knowing that my whole world isn't going to shatter if I relax a little, knowing that I'm not going to have to face things alone ever again. It's the best thing I've ever felt, and considering what we did this morning, that's saying something," she flashed him a playful little grin.

Duo slowly and idly ran his hand over Wufei's knee, the gentlest of touches, not even watching what he was doing. He was smiling, but that smile widened when he heard those words. There was a flutter in his stomach, and his heart, that almost had him laughing out loud. Butterflies. He actually had butterflies. Him! Just hearing those words was enough to brighten his day, his year, his whole damn life.

"Love you too." He returned warmly. "But no more threats. Least, nothing we can't take on together." And they would take them all on together. He would stay by Wufei's side, come thick or thin, good or bad. That was part of marriage, right?

He gave in then and laughed, eyes opening to look over at her, his own grin wide. "This morning was incredible. But every moment I've spent with you is. And it's only gettin better."

She grinned easily. "You asking me to be a desk jockey already?" she asked lightly, because she knew it was something that would happen eventually -- though she didn't really expect it to come until her age was starting to catch up with her or they decided to have kids.

Wufei gave his hand another squeeze. She would've leaned in to kiss him, but with the angle she'd taken, it was a little too much effort. She was feeling very relaxed and she could always kiss him later, when they finally crawled out of the lazy river.

"Never." Duo replied with a chuckle. He would never dare ask something like that of her. Not unless it was something she wanted. "Just mean I've got your back." He grinned though. He knew that desire to kiss, but being too lazy to actually move. Kisses would happen later. Right now was for relaxing.

Gently he stroked the back of her hand with his thumb. "You can do whatever you want, love. All I ask... is you remember to come back home to me." So while the threats would be lessened now, he did want her to take less risks now there was something for her to lose. And for him to lose.

Her grin faded to a smile at that, and she let out a long sigh. "I guess this means Une's finally going to get her way," she said lightly. "She and Sally have been taking turns trying to convince me to tone down the recklessness since I joined up. Never had a reason to listen until now." It was as good as a promise to be careful. There were things worthy of sacrificing her life, but that list had shrunk drastically in the last week.

Their innertube bumped gently against one of the river's edges. "I strongly suggest you lord it over them at every opportunity. Especially when negotiating with Une about job details if you decide to join our mechanic pool."

Duo had no doubts that he would find himself living alone for extended periods of time. Wufei going off on cases that would take her away for days, maybe weeks. Long nights at the office. And, or course, the injuries. That was just part of her job. And he wouldn't ever tell her to stop. How could he? He'd be an asshole if he did. All he could really say if be careful out there. Returning to him with a few extra holes was something he could handle. Just not a bodybag.

"Just dial it down a little." Duo smiled over at her gently. "Won't ask you to change. I won't put that pressure on you. You need to put me outta your mind when you're out in the field anyway. But... I'll take that advice." He chuckled. "Whatever I need to make sure Une keeps her hands to herself and doesn't pressure me into going out in the field."

She had no intention of making things any harder on him than they had to be, and that included putting a lot more effort into avoiding a bodybag. "I'm already planning to," she assured him with a soft smile, sliding her leg along his. "I didn't have much of a reason to ensure I came home before, but I do now and I don't intend to ignore it." She wanted to come home to him as much as he wanted to make sure she safely returned to him.

It was strange, to value something that much, to feel that strongly about her own safety. It was going to make her next mission strange and difficult, of that she was certain. "Une will probably have something ready and waiting for me when we return from this little sabbatical. There's always trouble brewing somewhere."

Well, screw it. She was at an odd angle, sure. But Duo could be pretty damn flexible when he wanted. Not that he needed that here, all he really needed to do was scoot around the tube, shifting his ass and then leaning over so that he could pull his hand out of Wufei's in favour of wrapping it about her and leaning in to kiss her.

"I'm not someone easily ignored." He smirked.

"No worries, Wufei. I trust you. I know you'll go in and kick ass. Bad guys should be quaking in fear waiting for your return." Duo was teasing her, but he was also serious too. He did trust her to go out there and do her best, and to come home to him. And he trusted her to kick as much ass as she could and fight whatever bad guys come her way.

She laughed when he moved over for a kiss and returned it happily, sliding one of her arms around him in return and leaning into the embrace. "You most certainly are not," she agreed warmly.

"They absolutely should, but I refuse to give them any more thought until we're back in Brussels," she said firmly, and kissed him again.

"No more thinkin. Got it." Duo smiled and tightened his arms around Wufei to pull her that little bit closer. And then he was kissing her again. Slow and deep, a hand had crept up to glide over her shoulder, along the curve of her neck to cup her cheek. But not satisfied to remain there he moved that hand to brush through her hair, burying his fingers within it. All the while kissing her in that same slow way, unhurried but thorough. They couldn't really get away with much while floating on an innertube in broad daylight, but a little make-out session didn't hurt anyone. And Duo was very much enjoying himself. Wufei tasted so sweet.

"Mmmhmm," she agreed with a warm giggle, and leaned into the kiss. This was exactly the sort of not thinking she was hoping for, and it was a damn good thing that she wasn't a man, or how she felt about it would be a lot more obvious.

She slid her arm around him, pulling herself flush against him. It was a damn shame they were in public, but that just meant the anticipation would make their alone time later better.

At least, that was what she thought, right up until they were hit with a wave of water out of nowhere, and she let out a shriek as she pulled back. Heero was grinning as he hopped out of his inner tube, moving to the edge of the river to pull himself out. "That's what you get for letting your situational awareness slip!"

His own arm closed around her more securely, holding her to him. No thinking was exactly what he was hoping for. They could just get lost in the moment, lost within each other...

Until some dickhead came and ruined it all.

Not that they hadn't already been damp from their dip in the water before, but now he was soaking and pissed off.

"YUY! I'M GONNA KICK YOUR SKINNY ASS!" Who needed situational awareness when they were on vacation? He pulled away from Wufei and started to climb out of the innertube. "You're such an asshole! I'm gonna make it my lifes mission to make every single romantic encounter you have as awkward as hell!"

Wufei rolled off the innertube and into the water with an angry huff, storming for the edge of the river to pull herself out. "You little weasel!" She snarled, pushing herself to her feet and shaking some of the water off. "You're not going to win this easily! And we're not at work!"

Heero wasn't sticking around to talk about it. He knew damn well that Duo was going to throttle him the second he caught up, but he was laughing as he weaved through the umbrellas and beach chairs. "It's worth it, I just scored a hundred points," he retorted with a grin.

Duo was only a few seconds behind Wufei and hauled himself up the edge of the river and back onto land. He let her yell so he could wring out his hair. But it was Heero laughing that gave him pause. He looked over, squinting at the way he was bobbing and weaving and then the comment on points...

"You're the only one who scored, asshole." Duo muttered, not really serious, since there was no way they would have gotten that far while floating on an inflatable.

"... He's drunk." Duo decided. "Or a spy. I've seen invasion of the body snatchers. I know what's up."

Wufei huffed softly, shaking her head as she turned her attention back to Duo. "No, that's him, the asshole is extending a competition we've been having at work to include vacation, apparently. I'm putting hot sauce up his nose next time I catch him napping in public," she grumbled, and started storming off in the direction of their cabana, mostly because she needed a towel. And some sunscreen. "Hundred points my ass, doesn't count if we're on vacation," she grumbled, and followed it with several different variations of the same as she made her way over, grabbing a towel and drying herself off a little when she got to the cabana.
