"I apologise for not bein more obnoxious about my feelings." Duo chuckled and let his own eyes close before he pulled his arms back from around Wufei. He stopped once his hands were resting at either side of Wufei's neck, resting at the curve where it met his shoulders. "And I'm sorry I upset you." And made him cry. That had hurt to see. He'd never wanted to be the cause of someone elses sadness...

Wufei hummed, as if he had to think things over. "I suppose I can forgive you," he replied with a little smile. "But this means there's a secret I must tell you," and he paused there for dramatic effect, his smile tugging a little wider. "I have always been somewhat of a crybaby." Unless he'd misunderstood the meaning of the word, but he was pretty sure he hadn't.

Duo waited for this secret to be shared, and when it was, he laughed softly and lifted his hands to cup Wufei's face between his palms.

"I prefer making you smile. Crybaby or not, I wanna make you smile, Wu. Want you to be happy." And if he was the one who could do that, even better.

"Well, I'd say you're managing it handily right now," he replied, sliding his hands around to the small of Duo's back, tangling his fingers together to hold Duo against him comfortably. "Even without being a bit tipsy, I'd be very happy."

He moved a little closer with the pull of arms around him, then let go of Wufei's cheeks in favour of wrapping his own arms back around the others shoulders. He smiled, a bright, beaming smile. That's all he wanted to hear.

"That's all I ever wanted." To be the cause of happiness instead of sadness and pain. Duo didn't really want much from this world. But when it came to loved ones, his needs were very simple. Happiness and understanding.

He hummed happily, letting his gaze wander Duo's face, taking a moment to memorize it all over again. "I don't know the first thing about dating, so you'll have to tell me when I'm over-thinking things, or doing something that doesn't make sense to you," he murmured. "And I'll ask you to explain if I realize you're doing something I don't understand." He and Treize hadn't been able to date properly, and their relationship had been more physical than anything. With Nataku it had been a marriage in name only, with none of the respect or affection a union should have.

Going slower was going to be strange, but he was sure he would enjoy it. Duo was, after all, well worth the wait.

Duo didn't mind the way Wufei was looking at him. It did, however, cause his cheeks to warm up quite nicely. He wasn't someone who blushed as a habit, but the scrutiny made him feel warm and... somehow loved. There was something in that dark eyed gaze that was tender in a way that made Duo's heart ache.

"I'm not much better." He admitted. "But we can work our way through it. Besides, we've already slept together, everythin else is a bonus." Duo winked, trying hard not to laugh. They'd slept in the strictest sense of the word and he was just teasing. Though now he found he was looking forward to when they turned in for the night. He'd planned on offering to put his body pillow between them for privacies sake. But now Duo knew he wouldn't be satisfied unless he was able to hold Wufei through the night. No pillow was going to come between him and that.

He tried not to laugh, he really did, but when Duo said it like that there was no hope for him. "I'm going to use that," he warned with a wicked grin, giving Duo a gentle squeeze. "The look on Sally's face will be absolutely priceless." And he leaned in for another little kiss, just because he could, because Duo was there, and his, and warm, and solid, and... he was just going to stop thinking now, because it was getting in the way of enjoying the moment.

"You've my permission to use it all you want." He said with a merry grin, delighted by the mental image of how Sally would react to that. He almost wished he could be there to see it.

But it was fine. He could live without seeing her expression because he had Wufei. He had those arms around him and lips warm upon his. Duo closed his eyes for a moment to better enjoy the kiss and the sweetness of it all.

Wufei lost himself in it, sliding his hands down and sinking his hands into the rear pockets on Duo's pants. Because that was something he'd always wanted to try.

And groaned in irritation when Duo's phone rang. He didn't know it, but the number the call came from was the one Quatre designated as his only-in-emergencies number.

Now he liked where those hands were going. He could have a little more of that if you please. Did he need to beg? He'd beg if he needed to!

When his phone rang, Duo could have screamed. Instead he sighed heavily and pulled back. "Shit... Just, hold that thought, 'kay?" He grinned and returned to the living room to grab up his phone. Duo dropped to he sofa and answered. "This better be important!"

Wufei was happy to give him as much as he wanted, no begging required... though maybe he'd like the begging. He didn't know, he'd never had someone beg him for anything but sparing their lives before.

He groaned out a complait when Duo pulled back, reluctantly sliding his hands free. "Can't you just ignore it?" he asked, trailing after Duo.

Quatre didn't waste time with niceties. "Don't let Wufei leave. I don't care if you have to knock him out and tie him down, he doesn't leave your sight, not even to go to the bathroom," it was the same tone he normally used to dole out orders on the battlefield.

Duo raised a brow when he heard the familiar voice on the other end of the phone and shot a puzzled look toward Wufei. Sliding back, he settled into the sofa.

"Hello to you too, Quat. Now how bout you start again and explain why I've gotta do any of that?" Duo had no intention of knocking Wufei out and they weren't at the point in their relationship where they could take a shit with the bathroom door open. So Quatre was going to need to give him more intel.

Wufei lifted a brow at that, shrugging in reply though he couldn't hear what Quatre was saying. Instead, he went to the kitchen to put some water on for tea, keeping himself where he could see Duo all the while.

"Because he's suicidal," Quatre replied, with complete certainty. "I've sensed things like this before, and I didn't act. I won't make that mistake again, so just keep eyes on him until I can get there."

"What?" Duo yelped and sat forward, not really sure he'd been hearing right.

Then he remembered that Wufei was in the house with him. Had just been in his arms and seemed the least suicidal person he'd ever met. So what the hell was going on?

Duo sighed and lifted a hand to rub at his forehead slowly. "... What're you sensing, Quatre? Because from where I'm sitting I'd say you'd missed the mark by several lightyears on this one."

Wufei nearly jumped from the sudden yelp, blinking at Duo as he silently manned the kettle.

"He was... upset. Angry, frustrated, sad. And then, quite suddenly, he got completely calm," Quatre replied, let out a long sigh. "That's apparently quite commonly the sign of someone deciding to put an end to things," and he wasn't crying, he was not, but it was a near thing.

Duo felt like he was going to be sick. He didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry. This was insane.

"Quat... With all due respect... you gotta stop that." He sighed, his hand covering his face now. "It was my fault, okay? I pissed him off and I... calmed him down. Nothin to worry about here." How the hell could Quatre even feel what any of them were feeling from such a long distance away? Oh gods... could he sense it when they'd kissed? Now that was just creepy!

"I can't just turn it off, Duo," Quatre sighed again. "And I can't ignore something as important as this. I try to keep out of things that aren't my business, I can't just stand by and let him..." He couldn't even bring himself to say it.

And now Wufei was frowning at him, arms akimbo. He didn't like the half-conversation he was hearing one bit.

He didn't think Wufei would like the other half much better. He didn't much like it.

"I get it, I get it. I do. But here's the thing, Quat. You're wrong on this. Trust me. The last thing... Yeah, just put it outta your mind. I swear on my poor, tattered soul that what you felt... you interpreted it wrong." So damn wrong. If Wufei had been suicidal... Duo really hoped he wasn't anymore. And if he was, it just meant he'd have to give him more reasons to want to stick around.

"You're sure? Completely sure?" Quatre asked, even though he knew Duo well enough to know that he was. "And you'll call me, if there's even the slightest chance you're wrong?" He was still probably going to find an excuse to come to earth soon regardless, just to see for himself.

"You can just tell him," Wufei said, leaning against the counter and folding his arms over his chest. "If it'll stop him from interrupting us again."

Duo was about to reply to Quatre when he heard Wufei calling over. After twisting around to look at him, he smiled apologetically. He'd not said anything for several reasons. One, out of respect for Wufei. He was usually a private kind of guy. Going around spreading his personal business didn't sound like a good idea. Which lead smoothly into two, it wasn't any of Quatre's business. And then there was three. He didn't know what to tell him. They'd not had a chance to work out just what they were.

But there was also a good chance Wufei wasn't even sure what he was telling him to do. Duo felt like he was stuck between a rock and a hard place and it made him want to blow shit up to make room.

And because he was a contrary little prick, the best way he knew to reply was by example. So he grinned, got up from the sofa and made his way over to Wufei.

"Am I sure?" He asked, his grin widening. "Tell me what you feel now." And then he reached out to grab Wufei around the waist and tugged him hard, pulling him from the counter and flush to his chest.

All of those were certainly true enough, but Wufei cared a great deal more about not having Quatre turn up and start meddling, and it sounded like the blonde was on the verge of exactly that.

He lifted a brow when Duo came over, and had to bite his own lip to stop himself from laughing as he found himself pressed to Duo, his hands sliding right back into those pockets they'd been so comfortable in a few moments ago.

Quatre was silent for a very long moment. "Oh. Oh. I. Uh..." he cleared his throat. "Oh."

That Wufei was able to hear, and snorted softly. "I think we broke him."

"His own fault for getting the wrong end of the stick." Duo sighed dramatically before he lifted the arm that had pulled Wufei in and draped it across his shoulders instead.

"Happy now?" He asked to Quatre. "I promise there's nothing to worry about." Duo went quiet for a moment, thinking his words over, before he laughed. "Call it a 'lovers tiff' if it makes you feel better. Can we go back to kissing and makin up? That's the best part. You're kinda being a third wheel, Quat buddy."

Wufei chuckled. "Just hang up on him," he replied, and since he couldn't easily kiss Duo on the mouth, he went for the neck, giving it a little nibble.

"Very," Quatre replied, managing to sound both sheepish and smug at the same time. "I'm sorry for interrupting," and then he hung up, because he definitely did not want to hear whatever was going to happen next, even if it was just kissing.

Duo just laughed and tossed the phone onto the counter before curling his arm around Wufei's head, fingers slipping into silky, black hair.

"That was kinda fun... Hope he learns to turn that thing off or he's gonna have a bad time of it." Or a good time, if he was into that kind of thing. Duo closed his eyes and couldn't help tilting his head a bit with a soft sigh of pleasure. "So... you're okay with Quat knowing about... this?"
