[ Sephiroth stares at the Materia in his bracer. He still can't get over the fact that they look so different now, that the world itself looks so different.

Not that anyone would know by his reaction. His only tell when it happened was in the slight widening of his eyes and he is pretty sure Zack doesn't know either given that Sephiroth was surrounded by his "fans" when it happened.

He isn't now though. He's alone in the breakroom and hoping it stays that way long enough for him to use the vending machine. Yes, even he has to eat from time to time. ]

[Zack hadn't noticed a thing. He was completely oblivious! Well, mostly. He noticed the fans and wondered just how Sephiroth could deal with those people hounding him without going crazy!

Then he felt a bit jealous. He kind of wished he had fans like that. Maybe one day when he was a big hero like Sephiroth he'd have a swarm of hot babes after him? He'd wandered off in disgust. The hotness was lost on Sephiroth and it was a crying shame!

A while later, whistling a jaunty little tune, he found himself wandering into the breakroom for a drink, only to find a rare sight. Sephiroth on his own. Zack made a show of looking around, then stepped back and leaned out the door to look around before leaning forward and stage whispering.]

No fans?

[He grinned and straightened up.]

[ It was testament to how profound the changes really were that Sephiroth didn't hear Zack coming. He actually started, and when he turned toward the other man that only made things worse.

Sephiroth didn't yet know the color of Zack's eyes, just that it was intense and he found himself staring for a second longer than necessary.

Which meant he missed the question. Sephiroth contemplated ignoring Zack. It was what he usually did to people when he was unsure about things, but somehow that didn't appeal to him at the moment. ]

[ Sephiroth isn't there.

Until he is.

He seemingly takes his form from nothing, like shadows gathering together. Does he actually have any substance to him right now? Who can say? Yet he is there all the same. Behind her. Watching her. A smile on his lips. He's ready to open his mouth when he notices his chest glowing. For a moment his smile turns even more smug because Cloud is nearby. He must be for that to happen.

Except he's not.

Cloud isn't anywhere in sight.

There is only...her. ]

Aerith.

[ The way Sephiroth says her name--really, the way he says anyone's name--is somehow both hot and cold. Everything from his enunciation to his tone is twisted, disturbed. Just like him. ]

[Aerith had no warning. Not a single thing. Not a sigh or a rustle of clothing to signal that someone else was near her.

Not until her name was spoken.

From right behind her.

Aerith spun. Hair fanning with the speed of her turn. In the same movement she stumbled backwards, her stave formed within her hands and she held it diagonally across her chest. It would do very little to protect her from him, but it offered her a minute sense of comfort.]

Sephiroth... What... Why are you here?

[Her voice shook, her eyes wide. There was fear there. Guarded, uncertain fear. What did he want from her?]

The entourage! The bevvy of beauties that follow your every move. [Zack had been grinning, but the smile had turned somewhat curious and he took a step closer.

He could be oblivious about a lot of things. Mainly things about himself. But when it came to others he could afford to be a little sharper. Which was why he realised that something was 'off' about Sephiroth.]
